How do I add a picture or avatar to my profile?
Many users have an avatar or profile picture associated with their account. The avatar is displayed under the user's name whenever they post.
1. Logon to the OTG message board with your account
2. Click the Control Panel link near the top right of the page
3. You will see in the right side of the Control Panel, the following with a copy of your existing picture:
4. If you wish to add a picture directly from the web, then find the URL for the picture and paste it into the Set external profile image URL box
- To use a picture on the web, browse to the page that picture is on
- For Firefox and Internet Explorer users, right click on the picture and select Properties
- For Firefox users, highlight the Image Location
- For Internet Explorer users, highlight the Address (URL)
- Hold down the Ctrl key and press C (Copies the highlighted text)
- For Google Chrome users, right click and select Copy Image URL
- Click in the Set external profile image URL box and hold down the Ctrl key and press P (Pastes the highlighted text)
NOTE: The text that's pasted should end in .jpg or ,gif. If anything else is listed, your picture will not work.
5. If you wish to add a picture from your computer, then go to the Upload profile image box and click Browse
- You can now browse your computer and select a picture
NOTE: The picture must be a .jpg or .gif file to work. Also there is a size limit of 50KB for any picture.
