Carter at best at this point would only bring back a draft pick but I think the Rangers might have to pick up part of his salary given how he appears lost. Slats does a great job of lowering his own player's trade value by trashing him in the media.

Purinton is an ideal 6th defenseman and given how it appears he is going to be on the ice more than Simon is then you need him since he becomes the defacto enforcer.

I don't like Lundmark on Holik's wing all that much either but it appears that only Holik has any faith in Lundmark. Lundmark IMO is better suited to play with Lindros and Rucinsky but I just don't see Slats having the guts to make such a move.

A kid line would be nice but Slats appears to have forgotten how he once had a very good one so don't expect that to ever happen.

I would prefer Moore on the checking line for now with Holik and Barnaby partly to help Moore learn his game at the NHL level. Since he is expected to be a winger then he needs to learn how to play defense and he won't learn that from any of the other Ranger centers.

Stals and Murray would be best suited for the 4th line at this point of their development. Neither has shown a lot of offensive potential so they need to be brought along a bit slower than a Moore who has.

Nothing against Scott but he also is no more than a 4th liner at this point of his career and mainly as a goon so that makes him a spare forward at best who can be spotted when they need another fighter.
