RUMOR MILL

Thursday - December 5th

Per Elliot Friedman of Sportsnet:

Prior to the December 1st deadline, the Oikers apparently tried again to move Jesse Pujljujarvi, and the Rangers were reportedly one of the teams interested.

The trade would have involved Lias Andersson going the other way, but ultimately they could work out a deal.

Hagelin returns from suspension as it looks like Boyle is injured

Not Over Yet!!!
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 10:55:18 AM - April 23, 2012

Ok everyone, forget about what seems to be an unfair disciplanary process in the Rangers/Senators series, it is FIGHT or flight time tonight. The Rangers have to go back to the Rangers team that got them to the top position in the Eastern Conference. The Rangers once were a team that would drop the gloves and protect each other and know that they would kill off the penalty, if shorthanded, to stick up for each other. In this series, Neil has been allowed to run around hitting everything and everyone without being taken to task. Well Rangers, it is time to take the Neil aspect out of the game. The Rangers can do this with their TEAM toughness or just dress Scott and let him do a "Carkner" to him, like Carkner did to Boyle in game 2 which changed this series around. Backs are against the wall, let's see how the Eastern Conference Champs react.

With the return of Carl Hagelin, the Rangers lines should return to almost normal. The top line of Hagelin, Brad Richards and Marian Gaborik should be reunited. Artem Anisimov should center Brandon Dubinsky and Ryan Callahan bringing the PACK line back together. Stepan should center former USA Jr. teammate Chris Kreider and Brandon Prust. The 4th line would be Mike Rupp-John Mitchell-Ruslan Fedetenko (if Brian Boyle is out with a concussion). That is a team that can go far in these NHL playoffs. But they need to do it ONE SHIFT AT A TIME!!!

Will Steve Eminger return tonight in place of Stu Bickel? The defense needs to keep the front clear so The King can see the shots. The Rangers defense will  be joining the play more tonight to help force the Ottowa defense to back up and think more defense instead of them joining into the offense for their team. Look for Michale Del Zotto and Ryan McDonagh to have big games tonight!!

The two key parts to the Rangers staying alive for a return to MSG for game 7 is to keep Neil under wraps and to dump the puck into Karlssons part of the ice and hit him at every opportunity. Even if it doesn't tire Karlsson out, it will force Ottowa to defend him and put the Rangers on the powerplay instead of the Blueshirts getting tired from being on the penalty kill.  Let's Go Rangers and see you back at the Garden on Thursday for game 7.
