RUMOR MILL

Tuesday - October 25th

Either Josh Jooris (New York Daily News) or Dylan McIlrath are likely to find themselves on waivers when Pavel Buchnevich returns from back spasms.

The team is expected to cut the roster down to 22 players, and as such one of the two will need to be either moved or sent down.

Boyle missed 3 games on a Hit that had no repercussions but now gets someone a 1 game ban.

The NHL Disciplinary is Out of Control
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 4:28:04 PM - May 7, 2012

What the hell is going through Shanahan's mind this postseason? Brian Boyle gets concussed on a hit that was shoulder to head with the puck not around, and the play is a no call and the league Disc. Department says was a clean hit. Now the same type of hit by Claude Giroux on the Newark Devils Zubrus brings a one game suspension. A day earlier, the Capitals Ovechkin choses not to play the puck and stride in for a hit on Rangers top defenseman Dan Girardi where he clearly left hi hit for a high hit and the league chooses not to even review it. Mike Knuble crashes into Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist and no penalty is called but instead the reviewed it to see if a goal was scored. Seriously, what the hell is going on in these suspensions and sometimes lack of suspension? Most refs calls even themselves out in the long run but these calls from Shanahan are the things that are now turning fans away from the NHL.  The NHL had a chance to make a move in the overall fanbase of the NHL market this season with basketball holding out and an NBC expanding national audience, and this type of thing is doing just the opposite. With officiating just horrible this postseason, is there any wonder that the 2 NHL teams that the NHL has invested money into this season in Pheonix and Newark are in the NHL's final four--GO FIGURE!!The Rangers and their fans need to just stay focused on their own games and play and cheer for what is happening on the ice no matter what the calls are.

The Rangers need to come out tonight and just keep playing Rangers hockey with a small change. They have to make a slight adjustment with the way they always look for their points as a first option. Last game,  two Rangers defensmen lead the Blueshirts in having their shots blocked. Putting a player into the high slot should help in giving the defensemen another option to pass the puck instead of shooting it into the player coming out towards them. Chris Kreider has to leave his mistake in the past , and his past is the reason why it would seem he probably has already forgotten about it, Kreider is a proven winner. Last game the Capitals top players came up big, it is now time for the Rangers top players to answer back!! The Garden Faithful have to do their job as the Rangers still have home ice advantage in what is now a best of 3 series and let the Capitals know who's arena it is tonight. Give them hell Rangers fans. LET'S GO RANGERS!!!
