► RUMOR MILL
|
Wednesday - April 13th
According to Larry Brooks in the New York Post, Vitali Kravtsov and the Rangers have patched things over and that plans are being made for Kravtsov to come to New York over the Summer to prepare for next season's training camp.
The picture painted in the article presents a very different story from the ones that came out after the young Russian departed North America following his demotion from training camp last September.
It's hard to believe that things have been mended so well on both sides of the argument at this point, so we'll have to wait and see where this goes. It would still seem likely that a trade could be made at or around the Entry Draft (July 7th an 8th), or ahead of the July 13th free agency period.
If Kravtsov is still a Ranger at that point, then I think chances are much higher that he'll be coming to camp, but I remain skeptical at this point.

Richards refusal to backcheck during powerplay was pathetic!
|
|
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 9:47:41 PM - December 8, 2013
The Rangers ownership decided to invest around $1 billion to make a "new Garden experience". So why is it that they have left the same old product on the ice? Apparently they blamed last years coaching staff and dismissed them for it. Before that they blamed their top ofensive player in Gaborik and they traded him for it. So , what do they do know. This season has to be fustrating to the ownership because it is infuriating to the fans that spend their money to see a lifeless and uncaring group of players just going through the motions. They look good one game and then forget how to play the next!
A perfect example of this problem was during a powerplay in the second period tonight against the Capitals, there was a turnover near the offensive blueline by the Rangers. Assistant Captain Brad Richards WATCHED as the Caps went down the ice on a two on one and not only did they get a shot off, but they even got a rebound shot off. At the point, the coach should have sent Richards straight to the lockerroom and had the A on his jersey ripped off! Where the hell are the leaders of this team?Callahan has played his game but nobody is following his lead. Staal and Girardi have not been themselves and are too worried about finding their own game than they are looking to guide the group. The players look totally lost and lifeless. How can a team have a brand new building and play like they don't care? Even at the Rangers worst yars, at least they played hard and gave everthing they had although some years it wasn't very much. This season can be summed up in one word, PATHETIC! They use the same play time after time. When the puck gets low, they pass it to the defenseman, ho then pases it across to the other defenseman who then shoots it into the oposing teams player. The defensemen can't get the puck through to the goal. How about when they get it, they skate it across and make a lane? How about having all the players moving their feet and not just standing around making it easy to take the angles away from the Rangers. How about taking control of the MIDDLE of the ice for a change and stopp shooting from against the boards all night. How about having someone in front of the net ALWAYS for a screen and/or a rebound!
Here is a GREAT idea. Send down Taylor Pyatt and Benoit Pouliot and if any team is crazy enough to pick them up, they take their cap hit off the Rangers hand. Bring up a few players that would force the Rangers to play hard every night because they would stir up the other team as much as much as they would add life to the Rangers. I say bring up Michael Haley or newly acquired tough guy Kyle Beach and Dylan McIlrath. The skill players will feel that if the same liberties are taken on them as there has been lately, at least someone will have to pay for it instead of just getting a powerplay that does nothing. The only players that should be safe because of their play are Ryan Callahan, Rick Nash, Ryan Mcdonagh, Mats Zuccarello, Henrik Lundqvist, Chris Kreider, and Cam Talbot. The season is slipping away fast so it;s time to make something happen!
It is just a damn shame that professionals can hit the ice and play without passion, when the franchise that they play for has one of the most passionate fanbases. Maybe it is time for the fans to stop showing up until either management makes some changes and gets rid of some of these lifeless players, or there is a huge change in the mentality of this Rangers team! Either way a change is needed because this Rangers team is not worth the price of admission!
