RUMOR MILL

Wednesday - June 26th

Elliot Friedmman of Sportsnet, reports that the Avalanche weren't willing to include the 16th overall pick to the Rangers in exchange for Chris Kreider.

Wonder who else wasn't willing to include a first rounder for him. Part of the problem of course is his UFA status next year, and then the expansion draft after that.

Rick needs to get NASHTY!!!

Rangers Lay An Easter Egg
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 2:52:09 PM - April 21, 2014

The Rangers started off strong with a 2-0 lead and then let their foot off the gas and paid dearly for it. Going in with a 1 to 0 games advantage and a 2-0 lead, the most dangerous lead in hockey, the Rangers then followed the pace that the Flyers dictated and paid dearly for it. Now the series heads to Philthydelphia even at 1 game apiece.

Martin St. Louis has shown up for the playoffs along with his summer workout partner Brad Richards, but the Rangers faithful are awaiting the arrival of Rick Nash. Where is the Rick Nash that played in the hard areas and even got into a fight in the game against Columbus late in the regular season? When THAT Rick Nash shows up along with the rest of the team pulling their own weight, the Rangers can beat anyone on any given night. Problem is, he doesn't show up often enough.

The good news is that Chris Kreider is the only injured Ranger and will miss his 3rd playoff game in Game #3. In Philly, starting goalie Mason will be out again with Ray Emery once again between the pipes for the third straight playoff game.

Playoff refereeing has not been the best so far in all the playoff series so far this round, as Lucic in Boston gets a monetary fine for a brutal crotch check from behind on a Red Wing Dman. Embellishment was the call of the day in Rangers/Flyers game #2. The turning point of the game for me in game #2 of the Rangers/Flyers series was with the game tied and the Rangers going on a 4 on 3 powerplay. At that time I thought the Rangers would call a time out and set things up and calm things down, but instead the Rangers just played through it and never got a real chance at taking the lead.

The Rangers just need to keep playing their game and NOT get into the frenzied type game that the Flyers excel in. If they have to take a hit to make a play, then so be it. Everyone can see the big rebounds that Ray Emery leaves in front of the net, so players like Nash need to get into those areas and make things happen. This is a series that Ryan Callahan and Chris Kreider would have clearly helped. Who will step up for the Rangers?

Let's Go Rangers!!!
