RUMOR MILL

Tuesday - October 25th

Either Josh Jooris (New York Daily News) or Dylan McIlrath are likely to find themselves on waivers when Pavel Buchnevich returns from back spasms.

The team is expected to cut the roster down to 22 players, and as such one of the two will need to be either moved or sent down.

K.Klein re-enters the Rangers lineup for Game #1

Rangers Are Ready For Caps
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 1:18:32 PM - April 30, 2015

As the Rangers prepare for the 2nd round against the Washington Capitals,  the Rangers defense is back at 100% but have to deal with the lose of forward Mats Zuccarello. The changes to the lineup will be Klein is in while Matt Hunwick sits and James Sheppard will enter the lineup on the 4th line on the wing of Dominic Moore and fellow winger Tanner Glass. The Rangers 4th line will play important minutes, as few as they may be, as Glass and Sheppard will make sure that the Caps 4th line doesn't take any "liberties" on the Rangers more skilled players.

With the Rangers having won the 1st round versus the Pittsburgh Penguins in 5 games, the Rangers had time to sit back, heal some bumps and bruises, and work on the parts of their game that needed work. Coach Alain Vigneault, along with his staff have had time to prepare and figure out a system to deal with one of the best players in the NHL Ovechkin. Everyone that follows hockey knows that A.O. loves to shoot the 1 timers from the faceoff circle to the right of Henrik Lundqvist. So to stop that shot, the Rangers will have to play smart and not get shorthanded most of all. To nuetralize A.O., do you actualy shadow him and play 4 on 4? I would give it a try in Game 1 because I believe A.O. having a career series that is the only way that the Capitals can hope for an upset of the Rangers in this series.

The Rangers would seem to have a big advantage in goal and on defense this series. The Forwards would seem to be a draw but because of the physicality of the Caps, I would give them a slight edge at this position. In saying that, I would expect the Rangers defense to silence the Capitals offense in a 6 game hard played series. Looking for a big series from Rick Nash, Martin St. Louis, and Chris Kreider along with Henrik Lundqvist and the defense.

Game #1 will set the tone and I would expect the Moore, Glass, and Sheppard line to send a message early in the game to keep Wilson, Glencross, Laich 4th line "above board" and have to answer for any reckless behavior.

LET'S GO RANGERS!!!
