McIlrath Clears Waivers

Former first round pick Dylan McIlrath has cleared waivers and will be assigned to Hartford today. The 24 year old blueliner's career with the Rangers is still at risk, given that he still requires another 41 NHL games in order for New York to retain his rights next year.
The move to the AHL will allow him some more playing time, after being a healthy scratch in six of the Rangers' seven games to date, and may give him an opportunity to earn a trade to another team before the season is out.
