RUMOR MILL

Tuesday - October 25th

Either Josh Jooris (New York Daily News) or Dylan McIlrath are likely to find themselves on waivers when Pavel Buchnevich returns from back spasms.

The team is expected to cut the roster down to 22 players, and as such one of the two will need to be either moved or sent down.

***MEDICINE HAT DRAFTS TOMAS KUNDRATEK***

The Medicine Hat Tiger have selected 2008 3rd round pick (and Rangers draftee) Tomas Kundratek with the 15th overall pick in today's CHL draft. Evgeny Gravchev has yet to be selected.

Martin Straka will not be returning to the Rangers next season. According to reports from the Czech Republic, the veteran forward has signed on with Plzen in the Czech Elite League to be their player/manager. The 35 year old played 224 regular season games with the Rangers scoring 65 goals and registering 122 assists.

2008 third round pick Evgeny Gravchev says he was surprised he didn't get picked in the first round, and wants to be like Evgeni Malkin. Gravchev is attending the Rangers' prospect camp currently, and is set to play in Canadian Juniors this Winter (import draft is today).

We've also got another article on Michael Del Zotto, though there's not much new in this one.

If you're looking for some more coverage on the latest picks, you may also want to check out http://www.sportsology.info/article.php?ArticleID=6782' class='othersite'>this article by Russ Cohen. Russ has recently completed a book about the Rangers (which we'll be profiling shortly).
