RUMOR MILL

Saturday - October 16th

On tonight's Hockey Night in Canada intermission report during the Rangers-Canadiens game, it was brought up that the Rangers have approached Kravtsov again about playing in Hartford. No decision yet, but sounds like perhaps the Rangers are trying to find a way forward. With a potential injury to Kaapo Kakko tonight, it means the Rangers top six depth has taken another hit.

Prospects Star Against Dallas
Posted by Toby Ivey ≡ 5:16:28 PM - September 15, 2010
The Rangers' prospects finished up the Traverse City Tournament today with a decisive 7-2 win over the Dallas Stars to finish fifth overall. Seven different players scored for the team, including Evgeny Grachev who registered his team leading fourth goal.

After consecutive one-goal losses to Carolina and Minnesota, the Rangers wanted to end their tournament with a win, and it was hardly ever in doubt. Leading 2-0 after the first and 4-1 after two periods, the team continually applied pressure throughout the game.

Scott Stajcer returned to the net and made 25 stops on 27 saves to secure an unbeaten record heading into this week's training camp, where he'll get another chance to push for a pro contract.

Derek Stepan finished strongly as well, picking up a goal and two assists to end with seven points in the competition, and lead the Rangers in scoring.

Stepan, Grachev, Stajcer, Sam Klassen, Jyri Niemi, Lee Baldwin, Ryan McDonagh, Tomas Kundratek and Cameron Talbot all head to Rangers training camp now, and will likely be joined by a handful of others.
