RUMOR MILL

Tuesday - October 25th

Either Josh Jooris (New York Daily News) or Dylan McIlrath are likely to find themselves on waivers when Pavel Buchnevich returns from back spasms.

The team is expected to cut the roster down to 22 players, and as such one of the two will need to be either moved or sent down.

The King has dominated future HOF Broduer in face to face competition

Where Was Fatso Hiding Last Night?
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 12:53:33 PM - November 6, 2010

While both teams have many injuries, the matchup at the Prudential Center may have shown more of what the teams are about on and off the ice. On the ice, the Rangers have had prospects fill the void that Rangers injuries have made while minor league level players have filled the void on the Devils. Last night, the Devils GM said that Broduer would play and then he wasn't even in uniform. After the game, Elias throws Kovulchoke under the bus for his 3rd period penalty on Fedotenko. Everyone is calling for coach Macleans job. My oh my, how the times have changed. I guess they have run out of Lou-Aid in New Jersey as locker room troubles are apparent.

The Rangers bounced back nicely from an all around beating the night before from the Flyers. The only thing the Rangers won were the two fights, and when did Shelley start to punk out of fighting? Also, Carciollo's beating from Prust was a late payback for Gaborik. Other than that, it was all Flyers. Within 24 hours and facing a rested Devils team trying for their first win at the Pru Center, the Rangers needed their best players to act and play like their best players. And that they DID. The KING continued his dominance over the Devils(even with Broduer in hiding), Stall and Girardi closed down Kovulchoke, and Dubinsky lit the lamp twice without his linemate and leader Callahan.

While the Rangers have brought up prospects such as Sauer,Stepan,Grachev, while giving bigger roles to Callahan, Dubinsky,Boyle, and Anisimov their cross river rivals have seen Volchenkov and Parise go down. While being helped for their cap by having Rolston and Salvador going down to injuries, but instead of prospects like Bergfors, Cormier, and Halishuk getting time(all have been traded away), they are forced to bring up AHL career level players S. Gionta, Mills, etc. The Rangers GM seems to have learned in this post lockout NHL while the Devils GM hasn gome the opposite way. The Devils have become the late 80's Rangers. Now only if the Rangers GM can just stay the course. People that have left the organization have done more with less in Pheonix and St. Louis.
