RUMOR MILL

Tuesday - October 25th

Either Josh Jooris (New York Daily News) or Dylan McIlrath are likely to find themselves on waivers when Pavel Buchnevich returns from back spasms.

The team is expected to cut the roster down to 22 players, and as such one of the two will need to be either moved or sent down.

The Rangers POWERPLAY is non existent

GET A POWERPLAY NOW!!!!
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 10:38:42 PM - February 7, 2011

The Rangers losing streak has hit 5 straight and it all looms around the lack of scoring on the power play and the play of the forwards. It has gotten so bad thatthe Rangers actually ended the last game on the powerplay with Wolski on the point with Gaborik and Boyle, Prust, and Avery as the forwards. Avery was high sticked in the face twice in the closing minutes and the Rangers stayed inept in the loss. Ranger players, coaches and fans are fustrated as the team just doesn't seem to get out of their own way.

The young defense and goaltending haven't been the problem for the last 2 games. The players that the Rangers NEED to be the main leaders have become their worst players lately. The King , Gaborik, Dubinsky, and Wolski amongst others have been invisible during games lately. Granted Dubinsky is just back off of injury but if the coach says your healthy and gives you 20+ minutes a game, you gotta make things happen. Their is no time for excuses, it is time to put up or shut up!!

Other teams are taking liberties on the Rangers because they know the Rangers will not score on the power play they receive. The Rangers have lately been putting all 3 forwards BEHIND the net leaving NOBODY in the front or in a scoring position. The Rangers need to scrap their current playbook for the powerplay and start anew. If the Rangers don't make a trade for the powerplay specialist needed, a callup of defensemen Valetenko or Kuntradek is a start. He has a booming shot from the point that would force teams to play higher up to cover a big shot and not let all 4 players collapse to the front of their net. Teams are also playing the same and dropping all 5 players in front of their net at even strength.

Watching the Rangers is tough right now, but the teams that the Rangers are battling for the playoffs with aren't doing much better right now. The RAngers still have a 4 point lead over Atlanta and Carolina at this time but those clubs have games at hand while the Sabres are 9 points back with 4 games in hand. It's time to make a move Rangers!!!
