Last year I picked Pitts to win it all, it hurt me to do so, but you could tell it was their year. A hot team with a hot goalie is a recipe for success. This year, it is wide open, you wanna say Craps, but this is the Craps we are talking about. Heck, may be they do it this year. I can't call any one team this year.

Where are your predictions guys?

I've been for the most part away from hockey and the Rangers for about a year now, and this forum as well, but I did check in on a few games here and there and mostly kept up with the news. Not sure what to expect going into the 2017 playoffs, but always remaining optimistic. You just gotta win. They can get bounced in the first round, or they can go all the way. Hard to say. I'll go with these optimistic predictions:

Montreal vs. Rangers in 6
Ottawa vs. Boston in 7
Washington vs.Toronto in 5
Pittsburgh vs. Columbus in 6

Rangers vs. Ottawa in 5
Washington vs. Columbus in 6

Could be worse. imagine if Boudreau was our coach. That dude has had tons of regular season success as a head coach, but only once made the CF. Awful in the playoffs, and now the Wild, who were a top team all season, are getting rolled by the Blues down 0-3.

Preds/Blues round 2 in the Central...yeah we all saw that coming (I don't count the Hawks out yet though).

Another early exit by Minny. You have to think changes will be made on that team. Did any one say Stepan?

The question of the Rangers moving Stepan is one I'll be curious to see answered after the season. I'm not sure he's the calibre of player worthy of no trade contract for the next two seasons and then a modified contract. His playoff performance so far has been rather ordinary.

I've watched about seven periods in this series over three or four games. From what I've seen if the Rangers lose to either team it's on the Rangers. They can take either team out in five games if they play any where near where they did against Montreal, 3rd game excluded.

Agree 100% Rr. The Rangers are better than both teams. Should be a max 6 game series if the Rangers play their game. Prefer Ottawa, but shouldn't matter.

Rangers gotta worry about themselves. Ottawa Boston was not near the tempo Rangers Habs was. I'd be surprised if it wasn't a fast paced game without the physicality, the Rangers just went through. The only concern I have is the foot speed and quickness of Staal, Girardi, and even Smith who as good as he was in the physical series might get exposed a bit against Ottawa's speedy forwards. They will need to be physical to offset. Time will tell.

Senseless with Boucher (sp?) will play Devils hockey, this we know. They know they can't possibly keep up with the Rangers. They will clog up the ice 1-1-3 system where they clog the neutral zone and have 3 guys sitting on the blue line waiting. This is not a secret, make a plan to get around it. If we know it, the Rangers know it.

Right now it looks not so bad for the Rangers.
Ottawa will not be easier than the series against Montreal.
But there is a chance to win this series.

But after that - doesn't matter if Washington or Pittsburgh will win - would wait a big wall for the Rangers.
For me - this series would be more difficult to win as the possible final series.
The western conference looks beatable.

I've gotten the East all wrong with the exception of the Rangers, which is just fine with me.

In the West, I'm wrong about the Hawks and Flames, but seriously, who picked the Hawks to get swept?

50% - 3 of 4 in the east (had Bruins over Ottawa) and only Edmonton correct out west. I think not only didn't people pick the Hawks to get swept, but few picked Nashville to win more than a game or 2.

Strange playoff year so far with all the overtimes, yet no 7 game series

I'm calling it right now, the Caps have the better team overall and home ice. I hate the Pens and might even be rooting for the Caps to knock them off, but the Caps will NOT beat the Pens.

One word: Holtby.

He is overrated. He has a fantastic defensive team in front of him and any decent goalie would look great standing behind that defense. But he will get exposed by the Pens who will actually get rebound chances and deflections on him. Rangers - Pens in round 3.

Unfortunately, I agree with you - unfortunately because if all goes well I think the Rangers can beat the Caps, but don't have the same warm and fuzzy feeling about beating the Pens

Holtby yanked after 2 periods. Weak link on an otherwise top tier team.

I read Crybaby got injured & left the game on a cross check. Was it that bad, part of the game, or illegal?

I didn't see it, but if they went out there to injury Crybaby, then I don't like it. You want to win,win against the team's best players. Like him or not Crybaby is the best player in the game, if this is what the Craps did to get him out of the series, I'd be routing for Crybabies now. And, shame on the Craps if they can't win knowing it with Crybaby in the lineup.

From the video that I saw I think the whole thing starts when Ovechkin gives Cindy a slash across the shoulder as Cindy is cutting in front of the Caps net. Cindy does the "dead legs" and begins to fall, probably trying to draw a penalty. Niskanen was coming the opposite way, looking to lean into Cindy with his arms somewhat extended and the stick positioned for a mid-back shove or crosscheck. With Cindy falling his head went low and BAM, the crosscheck/shove with the stick now became a head shot.

What I found interesting is that the refs signaled a 2 minute minor initially, then saw who was lying on the ice and upped it to a 5minute major.

Don't think Niskanen intended to hit Cindy in the head, but it was a nasty looking play. Crosby might have gotten poetic justice, getting hurt because he dove to draw a penalty. The Ovechkin slash was certainly nasty, but not enough to send an NHL player of Crosby's caliber flopping to the ice. Oh well ......

... and now the whining from the Pittsburgh media starts.

http://www.upgruv.com/ovechkin-niskanen-crosby-injury-nhl-238842162...

This franchise has been a the biggest bunch of whiners and hypocrites ever since Mario got there. Their players never play dirty, but oh the whining when their prissy boy captain gets dinged. Piss off already. If Cindy doesn't do the dead-legs dive after the Ovechkin slap with the stick the pouting bitch doesn't get hurt.

Saw the video from a different angle. It looks like Ovechkin's skate made incidental contact with the back of Crosby's skate, which may have been the reason why Crosby was going down when Niskanen came along. So maybe he really wasn't diving after the whack on the shoulder.

But this is what happens when you spend your entire career diving and acting to draw penalties. Whenever you go down people just assume that you dove. Maybe he didn't dive on this one, hard to tell from the video. Doesn't matter to anyone not a Pens fan. Oh well ....

Yeah - saw the same thing with the skate. Hard to catch that in real time video but wider angle and slowing it down just a bit and it's pretty clear that's why his head level dropped. Similar in some ways to Kreider running into Price - accidental but Pens fans will never let it go just like Habs fans haven't.

The Craps are the craps, pathetic, no Crybaby, no problem. That's about it for the Craps, there is nowhere else they can turn to, nothing else they can do that they have not tried. What is left for them to do besides tear it all down? They will go down along with the toothless Sharks as 1 of the best teams to never win anything.

Ive watched some of that series and Getzlaf has been a one man wrecking ball. Has made all the plays, in on almost every goal. Very, very good. Perry not near so much. Silverberg has also been very good. I think the Ranger depth would do well against Anaheim, as long as they could neutralize Getzlaf somewhat.

Playoff prediction....Henrik will choke in the clutch

You really do need to stop this nonsense.

http://www.thehockeynews.com/news/article/why-henrik-lundqvist-is-t...

After Wednesday night’s victory over the Washington Capitals, Lundqvist now has a career Game 7 record of 6-1 to go along with remarkable stats in those games. In Game 7s, Lundqvist’s goals-against average is 0.97 and save percentage is .962. That’s not to mention he has one shutout and has only allowed more than one goal against in a Game 7 once, and that was his only loss. Compared to the greats, Lundqvist is the most clutch Game 7 goaltender of all-time.

The stat guy is trying to portray his work on 7 games...not the whole story. Yes hes kept us in many games we had no business being in...Im not disputing that. He is a very good Goalie. BUT...in the big spot...playoffs...tie game etc... he lets in the killer...ALOT...This series alone in the 3 games in Ott...he was great in G1 until....He let in that BS from 65..the killer. G2 and G5 we scored 9 goals and lost both games

Why bother with the facts? When you're right, you're right, right?

Don't even bother Pav.....he's another in a long line of them.....eventually they just fade away.

agree. At time's lately, I think I'm on a middle school Rangers Hockey board.

So true. But its funny how you can bait them into just about anything. You are right Sureshore about the mentality though.

Btw calling facts propaganda really shows you're true colors.

When we win it all goes away....61-64 career playoff record...Its not all on him but there are many cases where he's not helped his own cause

As well as many more cases where he singlehandedly kept the team in it when they had no business actually being in it.

Blah lol We vent because we care...we take this sh!t personally...we are sick of Stefan Matteau already. The 3 loses in this series already are as bad as they come...they hurt...You are not a die hard Ranger fan if you dont get very seriuosly upset at it. So venting is something that happens

and evidently he failed middle school English as well.

Hey, I'm as pissed as anyone, and need to vent as much as you or anyone else. There are certainly certain players whose play frustrates me as it does you and other posters.

It's a few other things that I'm talking about though. What I am referring to as juvenile, pre-teen-like behavior is the pack-mentality/attempts at cyber bullying, and the cute little nicknames for players and other posters among other things. Regarding trashing players, there are a few players who haven't lived up to their abilities (or their paychecks) during these playoffs and there are others who've had some games that weren't up to the standards we've set (i.e, Henrik had a pretty bad game on Saturday). Thinking we'd be round 2, game 5 without Henrik in goal is foolish thinking (IMHO) what with the defenders we've gotten dealt by our previous GM. That said, our current coach has a say in who's on the ice at the end of a game and the grouping out there at the end of game 5 was awful. Staal has proven time-and-again he shouldn't be out there and how far back in time travel do you think you'd need to go to find the last time Glass was on the ice with about a minute to go in a 6 on 5 situation? That's on AV, surely more than Henrik.

So that's what I'm getting at - reasoned arguments intended to get feedback (positive or negative) but certainly not name-calling, and posts where I read, close my eyes and see myself or my kids when we were jumping on a schoolbus early in the morning rather than heading into our cars and heading to work.

AV should be fired for who he had out there last game...even tho the goal was a freak accident...middle schoolers are fun...cyber bullies like Paul are not. All players not showing up should get called out...but it doesn't work that way enough here

AV said after practice today "Hank needs to be Hank" "He had two good home games" sounds to me like AV is passing the blame on Lundqvist!

He has let in some very weak goals, but it is clearly not all his fault. Blame needs to go to the person who put the players on the ice to help Hank keep the lead!!

Would like to see the Oilers win.
Would rather play the Caps over the Pens.
So I hope it is the year of the comeback.

I fortunately went to sleep on that one...went to bed thinking they had it in the bag, woke up the next morning to find Marlins were champs. was not a happy camper...especially after 95 loss to Braves.

Strangers don't beat either team. They couldn't beat Senseless with Karlsson playing on 1 foot. At this time, any one to beat Crybabies, though I'm not sure of it. They will blow by Senseless. And, now Murray is back if needed.

I am right here. Here is my take. Clearly this was a series we had no business losing. AV did an absolutely brutal job in the series, especially in the gams that truly decided the series, 2 & 5. His late game personnel decisions were terrible. I said throughout let me see how things go this postseason before I destroy AV. Well we lost to an inferior team, and AV needs to take a lot of hits for that.

Now with that said, you guys go way too far in here. Everything is blame AV. This player struggled, oh that's AV. That guy had a bad playoffs, blame AV. On and on. The guy made some poor decisions, and for sure deserves to be knocked and questioned, but it is not all his fault.

How about Kreider show up for more than one period against Ottawa. Miller now has one goal in 40 playoff games. Hayes disappears in big spots. Hank was terrible in games 2 & 5. We all knock guys like Staal and Girardi (who actually played pretty well), so we see the deficiencies on D, but yet blame AV for that? No doubt he should have played Skjei more in big spots, but Staal/Girardi/Holden were still always going to be in the top 6, hence we had issues on D regardless of AV. We need to understand that.

Grabner was very good. Fast was very good. Lindberg was good. Any credit for AV on those guys, or just knocks when guys struggled?

AGAIN...I want to be crystal clear so this doesn't get spun any other way. AV did a VERY POOR job against Ottawa. He deserves to be questioned for that BIG TIME. So I am not defending him AT ALL (and it is actually the opposite as I think he should take clear blame for sure...I HATED what he did in the Ottawa series). He is 1000000000% fair game after we lost to a clearly inferior team, but I also know he isn't to blame for everyone and everything. The players have to be held accountable as well. It is a two way street.

With that said, if he got fired I would 1000000000000% support that...but it isn't happening. And not because I don't want it to, if I were in charge I would go in a different direction at coach, but I don't see Gorton firing AV, so it is what it is.

They have some work to do this summer, hopefully Gorton can get it done. Should be an interesting 6 weeks or so until July 1.

One other comment looking forward, and I know no one wants to hear it right now, but we are not that far off with the right moves this summer. We have a good young base.

Stepan needs to go. Cannot have him with a NTC and a 6.5 mill cap hit. He is absolutely the guy with value that needs to be packaged for a top 4 RD. Gorton needs to get this done. He CANNOT be on this team after July 1.

And one of Staal or Girardi absolutely needs to go. Gorton also needs to get this done as well. One MUST go or it will be real bad.

There are moves that need to be made, but we have a nice base here to build off of. Stepan and Staal or Girardi MUST go, and a top 4 RD MUST be added (hopefully in addition to resigning Smith), but we have a real nice young base I think. So if Gorton can do work this summer I believe we can be back in a good spot again next season.

If I tell you our top 4 dmen are McDonagh/top 4 RD we add and Skjei/Smith you aren't going to feel real good about this team with the forward youth/depth we have (assuming only Stepan goes for the dman)? I know I would with Skjei, Buch and Vesey all expected to take steps forward, and that doesn't even mention a handful of other young guys who could/should do the same.

Let's not forget that people.

You want Crybaby with his crybabies to win another cup? Really? What do you have against Ottawa, they played hard, & Rangers beat themselves. I have nothing against them & wish them luck in beating Crybaby with his crybabies though it will never happen. :-(

I think the only time AV was criticized for poor play of a player was in the case of stepan, he was criticized because he had stepan out there for important face-offs.

We all put blame on players!!

AV made horrible decisions and then gave lame excuses for the decisions. "the players didn't know the goaltender was pulled" "I lost players on the bench" and so on and so on!!! LAME!

Deciding to go with staal and holden in the final minute of games trying to protect a lead, shortening his bench with a lead are the biggest reasons we lost this series. That is on him and him alone!!

We didn't lose because we didn't score enough goals. scoring 4 goals should've been enough to win those two heartbreakers.

Don't disagree at all as I said, AV made god awful personnel decisions in this series. Won't argue with that. Combine that with lack of execution by the players and you have a loss to an inferior team.

I want stepan gone yesterday! The problem is finding a taker for a player in decline who is going to make 6.5 for the next four years. Who wants to pay 6.5 to a guy who at best is a third line center?

stepan alone is not going to bring a top 4 Dman. Leave him exposed at the expansion draft and pray McPhee does us a huge favor.

If you thought stepan was SLOW this year, wait till next year!! And then the next 3......

Stepan has value, & he can still play. I think he really needs a change of teams, you see it with many players, many times. Something we will never know happened with him. And, you don't see players confronting goalies in public like that, it is unheard of. Head cases like Belfour, Roy, Smith, Hextall, others & never has a player done this on the ice, off the ice yes, on the ice NEVER. Roenick said he has never seen it & he played with some head cases goalies, he said it belongs in the locker room.

SI ranked the top line centers in the NHL before the season started. They had stepan at 24 out of 30. They said "Its hard to get worked up about the potential of a player who has yet top 60 points in a season, and who's career face-off percentage is below 45"

And this was before this season.....Hard to believe he's only 26, he looks like he's a mid 30's player. I hope someone looks at his age only and may see trade value. Other than that no one is going to be willing to give him 6.5 for the next 4 years. Only us! Which is part of the problem

Maybe it needed to be said though. Lundqvist didn't have a good season and our defense didn't help at all and he was probably raging at them. Sometimes you need to be told to calm down. Not that you can blame Hank with the way they've played in front of him the last 4 years.

Maybe it needed to be said though. Lundqvist didn't have a good season and our defense didn't help at all and he was probably raging at them. Sometimes you need to be told to calm down. Not that you can blame Hank with the way they've played in front of him the last 4 years.

True but on MANY occasions...Henrik throws a visible mini tantrum and stares at a player. So maybe the players got sick of that too?

SI ranked the top line centers in the NHL before the season started. They had stepan at 24 out of 30. They said "Its hard to get worked up about the potential of a player who has yet top 60 points in a season, and who's career face-off percentage is below 45"

And this was before this season.....Hard to believe he's only 26, he looks like he's a mid 30's player. I hope someone looks at his age only and may see trade value. Other than that no one is going to be willing to give him 6.5 for the next 4 years. Only us! Which is part of the problem

I remember sitting up in the garden in the 2012 playoffs and remember yelling at Stepan saying things like "WTF is this guy doing?"

The problem with that is he was probably better in 2012 than he is now

That is what I think happened. They say he doesn't just stare but gives it to players verbally quite often. My guess is Holden the most with all those goals that bounced in off him this year.

Yes, no one is arguing this point, he is 1 of the vocal leaders on the team, wears an A, has been around long enough, & is very popular & respected in the room. The problem is where he did it & how he did it to the team's MVP for 12+ years. In the locker room...

Ottawa keeps finding ways to win, and continues to make plays when they matter most. Call it whatever you want, but they keep winning games against teams they are in theory "lesser" than. Good for them. I don't think it continues over the long haul in this series against the Pens, but maybe it will. I would stay with Pens in 6, but give Ottawa credit for what they are doing.

But remember Pitt had a crazy war of a series with the Caps. They were not awake last night...even tho they hit the post all night. Ottawas game tying goal in G5 against us is all you need to know about their luck so far.

Sens bringing some serious physical play tonight. Phaneuf rocked Rust with a clean open ice hit and Rust is gone to the locker room. Hoffman smashed Schultz into the boards, he's gone.

Don't know who to admire more, the Sens for bringing it against the Pens, or the Pens who keep playing like champs despite so many injuries.

One thing is for sure: Boucher is doing a great job coaching so far in this series.

Ha ha, good question! And, know what, he has more tools/talent than both of them combined. He can be & should be on the scoring leaders yearly. Will he ever realize it, we have not seen any indication of it to date. The games he does show up for to play, he dominates.

I'm guessing the reason is one of those players coaches knows how to motivate players and that same coach knows how to make players better.

I think that only plays a small part with regard to Kreider. He's never been the same after the Price incident. It seems every time he gets a penalty for using his size, his shies away from that part of the game.

IF the Rangers had any sense, they would have had someone sit down with him and work on that aspect of his game.

I don't disagree with that. That Price thing did coincide with a more passive Kreider. The coach is getting $4,000,000 a year to mentor these players and make them better, and there ia always some coddling and counseling going on. Communication is front and center, and so important in getting players to play up to their skillset and more importantly how the coach wants them to play. When Vigneault is quoted as saying "he sure wishes he had the Kreider that played the last period against Ottawa all playoffs", you just shake your head. Kreider is the poster child for the underachieving individual players on the Rangers this season. And should be a glaring negative in assessing Vigneault. Coaches are paid to get the best out of players, by hook or by crook. If Vigneault really wants to know why Kreider has underachieved he needs to look in a mirror.

It is also very hard to repeat, no team has done it since 1990s Detroit team. I give this team a LOT of credit & respect. They don't go away, they don't quit, they play hard nothing at all like the NY Stranger players. Go Ottawa.

A big Senseless supporter here also. People in sports & fans don't often value hard work & a will to win too often. We tend to look @ talent 1st & foremost if not only. This team is all about hard work & a will to win. How far it takes them, we will see... But, they are a good story & I'm on their side all the way.

What? Are you serious? If I scroll back I can find quotes like F- Ottawa, go Pitts, etc... What are you talking about? How is that any different from I'm posting? I am routing against Crybabies, right now it is Ottawa doing really well against a 3rd team they are supposed to loose to. Give them some credit, geez. Our Rangers on the other hand couldn't beat the team they were supposed to beat. I'm calling it like it is. I am not a blind Rangers fan. Ottawa with hard work, never quit approach & attitude beat the heavily favored Rangers & all their 'talent'. I will & do give credit where credit is due.

I think back to Kovalev, who had all the tools (size, speed, hands) but was always less than expectations. Until he played for Keenan. Took some doing, but Keenan got through to Kovalev who had his best overall season arguably of his career in '93-'94, especially in the playoffs when things matter most.

There are several young players on the Rangers who should be better than they are right now. I'll leave it at that.

Preds - Ducks is a vicious series. Really enjoyable to watch, especially since I don't have a rooting interest but I'm kinda pulling for the Preds. These teams genuinely hate each other and they are bringing it physically.

I know the league is hoping that fighting just goes away eventually, but seeing fights in the conference finals again is just awesome. No staged stuff, just tempers boiling over in the heat of battle. Haven't seen this kind of hockey since the early 90's. The fans are loving it and I hope it makes Bettman miserable.

Watching this Johansen kid on the Preds go face to face with Kesler and the rest of the Ducks, I can't help but wonder why Kreider can't play like this.

Kovy was in his 2nd year when Keenan Coached him, Kovy was still a head case then and after Keenan.. It was only when he left NY He played up to his Potential .

Here is something interesting, @ least we have this. NHL names Top 20 Teams of all-time, & 94 team is 1 of the teams, a little surprised considering all the great teams 100 years or so of hockey:

They should call it greatest teams of the modern (post Original 6 era). any of these 'fan vote' lists will be incredibly tilted to more recent teams, as exponentially less people will have seen the champions as you go back in time.

From the list presented, as much as I hate them, I'd go with the '76-'77 Canadiens. 132 regular season points when teams didn't play OT or go to a shootout to get extra points for a win. Also - an 80 game season, 2 less than today's seasons are. Only 8 losses all season. Regarding playoffs, played just 2 games above the max (just 3 playoff rounds at the time). Guy Lefleur was amazing that season, winning both regular season 56/80/136 in 80 games(Hart) and playoff 9/17/26 in 14 games (Smyth) MVP awards. Even though it was at the end of his career, I loved having Lefleur in a Ranger jersey for that one season

Henrik showed this week what jersey he cares about more.... F him

Hmmmm...for Sweden, he played behind a defense that included:

Viktor Hedman
Anton Stralman
OEL
Alexander Edler
Jonas Brodin
Johan Klingberg

For the Rangers, he played behind a defense that included:

McD
Girardi
Staal
Smith
Skjei
Holden

Now, I ask you.....behind which defense do you think ANY goalie would be more successful?

Oh, and do you "F" Lindberg too? He won the gold also....played a top 6 role too. But "F" him anyway, right?

lol yes Swden has a decent D... they still gave up 40 + shots...I didnt watch it tho...and he was 4 for 4 in the S/O....I like Lindberg...Im just still super peeved...he was awful in the Ottawa series...G1 he was great then let that sh!t in from 65 at the worst time.... G2 just dont let in 6 and we can win... G5 the night we lost the series...another 2 goal lead unable to hold it. G6 was a funeral. 2009, 2011,2012,2014,2015 all those teams younger and better than now...All those series we had the lead in games and series and lost all of them. Frustrating

Hank was very good in the gold medal game....no doubt about it. He stopped all 4 shootout attempts (none of them was spectacular - just very good positioning). But that Swedish defense was the best of any team in the world (a whole lot more than "decent".

I understand your frustration...we are all frustrated. With our defense playing all over the place, and the various deflections, giveaways, and open looks from inside the slot....yeah, Hank was looking very ordinary. But give him a competent defense....and forwards that don't just wander around the defensive zone aimlessly, and you will still have the "King".

To say "Henrik showed this week what jersey he cares about more "....just isn't right. There is no doubt that he bleeds Ranger red, white, and blue.

I agree with what you're saying but I feel that your comments reflect back on the coach as much as the talent on the team. The deflections and open slot looks reflect on his choice of defensemen that can skate and move the puck quickly.A guy like Clendenning should be right up his alley, but he had no use for him as the year went on.His forwards for the most part are much more concerned with scoring goals than they are with preventing them.

I rarely recalll our defense playing, much less "all over the place" but let's not quibble over semantics.

Henrik's "weaknesses" have been debated since he got the #1 job. Yes, he gives up bad goals....name me ONE who doesn't (or didn't). Regarding the comment about all the series we've lost since 2009, your implication that we was the cause is idiotic at best. And I don't agree that all those teams were better. Luckier -- yes.

this year we lost because of AV's idiotic coaching. Implementing Torts' "shell game" was stupidity at it's best. Torts had a reason -- he didn't have the horses to press fully. What what AV's excuse?

Implementing renney's "line up" system was even dumber. How do you expect to win when you continually break up your best lines?

Gotta go with the Preds!

Lets see how much help the pens get from the league and the refs

I'll keep an eye, that's it. I especially can NOT watch the Crybabies win another Cup.

Nashville has been great these playoffs, though. Ottawa was difficult because of great goaltending, and good defense with Karlsson adding an offensive threat from the back end.

Well, Nashville has the best defense in the league, IMO. Rinne has been unbelieveable, and adds the ability to move the puck himself making their transition game that much more difficult.

Going to be a good series, of course pulling for The Preds.

The same colot scheme is going to be weird.

Imagine what double mint could do with Cole, Dumoulin, Hainsey, Schultz, Daley, and Maatta.

I'm assuming you don't think double mint could get more out of them?

It's hard for me to get into this series. I like what Nashville has done with their team, and would like to see Subban pick up a Cup and silence some critics, but on the other hand it's hard to root for a team with James Neal, Human Garbage.

Can't really get behind Pittsburgh either, most of those guys won last year so there's not a "win a cup for ______" story, and besides it's Pissburgh.

Yeah, Rangers wouldn't beat them also, no way. Sadly, I have to admit, no team can beat this team these days. It was obvious though if a team in the East doesn't take them out no one in the West will or can.

They've also been able to do it with a ton of injuries and departures. Full credit to Sullivan and Co for maximizing their roster on any given night. Which as I have said repeatedly is the #1 job of the coaching staff, and my biggest criticism of AV.

Anyone else notice: Guentzel was killing the Preds in Games 1 and 2. Since then, the Preds have taken every opportunity to knock him on his ass and rough him up. They are shoving and yapping at him after whistles and Guentzel looks shook. He's been nothing in Games 3 and 4.

THAT's coaching. That's how you observe and adjust. That's how you get your team to counter what the other team has going for it. Did AV get his guys to do that to Turris, who was killing the Rangers? Of course not.

I think it is not a secret that AV doesn't adjust to the game that is being played rather than his own system all the way.

There is hope now.

In a couple of years this McDavid will be the best player in the game, there is no doubt about that at all. But, for now, Crybaby is still the best player in the game.

The NHL has announced that Games 6 and 7 will be played as a double header on June 21 during the day...So it can be combined with the expansion draft at night.

Even though it seems like the season lasts longer the Rangers won game 7 1994 on June 14.

Yep and that was a great day...but the NHL season should not be still playing in June...In the 80's the cup was won in May... Then the stupid NHL started to make all rounds 7 games and days off between games in the same city.

Pens win again... Hagelin turned on the jets and blew past Subban....Hagelin and Cullen...guys not "good" enough to play for us because we have Stepan instead..Now have 5 Cups between them...Awful Awful Awful trade getting rid of Hagelin...Him Duby, Cally etc.. still on this team we would of done some damage...Instead we give away all our Draft picks..and albatross contracts to old men with billions of miles on them..Brilliant

I miss the post-Jagr, pre-Crosby days when they were the pitts. The building was like a grave yard with a few thousand people in it crying in the panties. You know it is coming post-Crosby.
