LEADING THE WAY

The Rangers have five alternate captains for the 2018-19 season - Jesper Fast, Chris Kreider, Marc Staal, Mika Zibanejad, and Mats Zuccarello. Staal is entering his ninth season as an alternate captain with the Rangers, as he was first named an alternate captain at the start of the 2010-11 season. Among players on the current roster, Staal is the longest-tenured member of the team's leadership group. Zuccarello is entering his second season as an alternate captain with the Rangers after first being named an alternate captain on Oct. 4, 2017, while Fast, Kreider, and Zibanejad all wore an 'A' during the second half of the 2017-18 season.

HOW THE RANGERS WERE BUILT

  • Draft (7): Buchnevich, Chytil, Fast, Kreider, Lundqvist, Skjei, Staal

The move is moronic. You destroy any offense the 4th line might provide. If you were going to do this, have Lias on the 4th line with Howden. Let him get experience on the 4th line and use him a lot on the PK unit. Having scrubs on your roster like McLeod is not a rebuild. If Gorton had done his job effectively, he would have traded Namestnikov in the off-season.

Excited to see Kreiders performance tonight after Quinns comments about his play opening night.

What did he say.? Gianonme . Some anticipation to see Dahlin.

He said he felt Mika played a pretty good game, but not enough effort from Kreider or Buch

Buffalo has some size and snarl on their 4th line. Quinn has Macleod and McQuaid opposite them. AV would’ve had Fast and Frodo on ice against them.

You can see it his unfolding struggle to score early in the season, keep putting in the work guys start putting a few in gain some confidence, and they become a real tough out. I’m digging what I’m seeing.

I got a season tick buddy who knows some people...says Hayes is absolutely a goner

I’m not a Hayes fan, although if he threw 7-8 checks a night I might change my mind. A huge part of being a successful coach is getting rid of guys you know you can’t win with. Hayes could be a monster he has enough skill but it’s just not in his DNA to run over people. I don’t see the Rangers wanting to get into a long term deal with him especially since his money could go along ways towards a Panarin which would be a better long term investment..

STFU Henrik....F'n yelling at Heatl

The kid looks shook up. He's tentative and shying away from contact now. Henrik barked at him because he didn't get the puck out when he had the chance near the blue line. Kid has to grow up a bit faster than he might've anticipated.

Yeah, I don't like when he shows up a teammate after a goal. But when he's giving a younger player some direction after a whistle right after a mistake is made, I'm good with that. Quinn may have given Henrik the green light to "coach" on the ice.

I hope Hank screams at his defenseman and forwards all year. They have sucked for 3 years straight in front of him. They need to be told they are fn stupid and to stop fn up. Otherwise, they won't give a crap. I actually think Chytil looks better tonight. Team isn't finishing but there are some good signs. Vesey might have turned the puck over but it was Skjei who was pinching in, in the middle of the ice like a moron. He should have been back with the other defenseman.

Rangers gotta persevere. It’s so tough when you don’t get any breaks around the other teams net and your working hard, it’s a hard thing and can cause a let down in effort if a team doesn’t keep its intensity going. Can’t quit, you can see a little more desire this period to get one. Work, work ,work it’s all you can do.

McQuaid makes the simple, effective play. Just get it on goal from the point as quickly as you can, let your teammates dig for it.

CONGRATS TO HOWDEN. First of many.

Rangers 44 to 29 shots on goal. This team cannot get screwed by the refs like tonight and the last game. There is no room for error.

Since Zubov and Leetch, the Rangers defenseman don't get shots through to the net, nor hit the net. They are a walking embarrassment offensively.

A work in progress. They play hard and physical. Just need some guys to finish on the chances. Hayes, Namestikov and even Frodo may be trade bait for a goal scorer IF there's a legit chance to grab a playoff spot later in the season.

Baseball is gay. Have no respect for a sport where fat slobs are starters. Not to mention the roiders that still are all over the sport.

I wasn't home, I didn't see the game, but reading some of your all posts sounds like they played well enough, but no luck putting some in the net. Gotta win the next one, don't wanna go down 0-3.
