The Arizona Coyotes will try to end a three-game losing streak when they host the New York Rangers at Gila River Arena on Sunday. All three losses, including a 3-2 shootout loss to the New Jersey Devils on Friday, have come at home; this will end a four-game homestand.
Arizona won its previous game against New York this season 4-3 at Madison Square Garden when former Rangers center Derek Stepan scored in overtime. Th Coyotes trailed 3-0 in their largest comeback victory of the season. They have gone 3-6-1 since that game and are 0-2-1 during the losing streak. Arizona has lost 11 of its past 15 games (4-10-1).
Henrik Lundqvist is expected to be in goal for the Rangers after Alexandar Georgiev made 41 saves during a 6-1 loss at the Colorado Avalanche on Friday. New York has been outscored 13-3 in losing its past two games and has lost 11 of its past 15 (4-6-5).
Players to watch
Rangers forward Chris Kreider has eight points (five goals, three assists) in his past seven games and seven goals in eight games against the Coyotes.
Coyotes center Derek Stepan has three points (one goal, two assists) in three games against the Rangers, the team he played for from 2010-17.
