For most people that’s a lot of money, I guess he got his Dad’s also his Agent’s commission.

I have a feeling DeAngelo is going to take a hard line and hold out, which for a player in his situation, is not a smart move. He had enough last year to show there's something to build on, and he's at risk of destroying all that if he holds out into camp. Is he worth more? Yes, I 'd say he's worth quite a bit more than his QO, or even 500k more than his QO. But the salary structure is set up so that until you're 27 you have very little leverage. Players use whatever leverage they have, and I don't hold that against them, but if he chooses this route it may be a short term win for a long term detriment.

I don’t know what he is going to do. He left in the spring with a pretty good second half, at times the Rangers best defence man. He sits and Fox is licking his chops with the opportunity in front of him, and if he clicks, Tony is going to become the forgotten guy. His agent is playing with fire thinking the Rangers are going to capitulate and cough up a big dollar. I think based on Lemieux’s deal $1.5 mill for one year $2 mill for two years is pretty much it for him. He’s worth more $$ than Lemieux. He should take the Rangers one year offer bet on himself and go out and have a good year.

DeAngelo once again is acting like a moron. He had to be benched constantly in the beginning of the year. While he improved a ton the second half, he's done nothing in his career to earn anywhere near over 1.5. It's not like the Rangers need defenseman who are greedy. They have Lundkvist who I would pencil in tomorrow on the right side and have little worries. He's played against men and with his high hockey IQ, he should quickly adapt to the NHL. DeAngelo has high level, offensive skills and was winning me over the second half. However, with Fox here now he is expendable. Plus, the fact he didn't get an offer sheet tells me one of two things. One, he likes it here and didn't entertain one. Two, around the league he is considered as having considerable baggage and is not a player of interest. Either way, he better get his head out of his ass along with his agent or he won't be here much longer. As far as Lemieux goes I think he's crucial to the team going forward. They have too many soft, Euro's as it is all over the roster. However, as we know this board and HF are full of Euro loving, Rangers fans.

I'm not sure why you make sh!t up. Just to stir the pot? Who on this board loves soft Euros? Please don't confuse us with the assholes at HF. If you like stirring the pot so much, keep it there.

And tell me more about Lundqvist. Do you have a full scouting report? Have you seen him play?

Agree with all points. His only leverage is holding out, on a team that acquired Trouba and Fox on the right side in the offseason. I don't know if he's fully thought this through. It's not like he was solid last year. Had some ups and downs, still some "maturity issues" and closed out the season well. A potential holdout could erase the bulk of the progress he's made.

DeAngelo's agent is Pat Brisson, one of the most experienced in the game. But that's both good and bad for DeAngelo, because it means he's got very good, very experienced representation, but it also means that he's a drop in the bucket of Brisson's client base (and looking for a relatively small contract)

These are the same people that loved Renney and AV according to him. I suspect those people are just Dump's other personalities and he's carrying on an internal argument in writing on the forums. But his other personalities are illiterate so we only see these replies.

Tony D is playing a dangerous game in light of all the young D on the roster. The Rangers have the luxury to try an see who might be ready during the regular season with very little consequence. Sometimes even a less heralded guy gets in the lineup and can play (Girardi, Sauer).

Yeah, DeAngelo is good, but there's no shortage of quality D prospects.... Rykov and Lindgren will seize that opportunity

And, he's proposing that he would pencil in a "Euro" in Lundqvist and have little concern over it, while stating we have too many "Euros" on the team already
