Hi everyone.

Avs are winning despite their vaunted top line sputtering and the goaltending sucking donkey balls. Mostly riding the insane hot streaks that Nazem Kadri (who picked a good time to play his best hockey) and Cale Makar are currently on.

Rangers power play will likely have their way with the Avs' rather poor PK (and again, goaltending just hasn't been good). Also, any time Kurtis MacDermid is on the ice it's almost a guarantee the opposition will get a prime scoring chance. He is honestly the worst player I have ever seen in an Avs uniform, and there have been some real stinkers over the last 26 years. He makes Nemeth look like Rod Langway.

Well Rangers have been a bit loose at times in the last couple of games...2am return to New York from Chicago and starting Huska in his first NHL game...this could go any kind of way, wouldn't want to bet on it, that's for sure

Gallant betting on a rally around the kid goalie. I’m not surprised he wants to see what Huska has. I don’t imagine it would take much to move on from Georgiev and Allaire is knee deep in this call also. Which means Allaire has confidence in him and gave the thumbs up to being ready to play.

Lunkvist needed that watch his confidence go up. Kids always tapping his stick on the ice calling for a pass.

Any IPad geeks on here can tell me why I only get part of this page only goes wide enough to pickup forumns not OTG on the main page and every thread cuts off the last two three words in a sentence. I have to scroll right to read it. Pain in the ass. All other sites are fine.

If it's just this thread, then probably because of the picture at the beginning of the thread

Rangers with some control on the last shift - 2nd game in 24 hours is not a good look for the Rangers.

Well, this was a tough spot to throw Huska into, but he looks overmatched for the NHL

On a good note Kakko starting to flash that puck control and evasiveness with it that he excelled at pre NHL. Only a matter of time and he starts clicking with the setups for his teammates.

i think every player coach and executive on the Rangers would like to see Huska show some balls, hack someone around the crease, get pissed off when one goes in. Right now he's just wilting.

Good old NHL taking care of its players - they must be using the NFL 'concussion' protocols.

It would appear the Rangers need a capable backup, they cannot go into the playoffs with Georgiev, and Huska has a lot of excellent AHL goaltending to produce before he sees the ice in NY again.

Georgiev is fine, he just needs to play more often. Shesty might not be able to take the load the way hank did.

Next Tuesday should be interesting. What's pissing me off is that I probably won't get to see that game. I don't give ESPN any of my money and don't pay for ESPN+.

Right now the two things hurting Kakko and Lareniere the most other than not getting first PP time are their centers. Zibanejad has sucked ass all season. Especially at even strength. Chytil is not the center you want to develop Lafreniere with. I hope that Drury has the balls to get Miller. I would have no problem with him trading Chytil, Jones, Hajek and something else to get Miller. I don't think it would take much more than that. Even if they wanted Lundkvist in that deal you have Schneider to replace him.

Didn’t think the hit was dirty, Trouba just happened to catch guys with their head down in almost the exact same position in consecutive games. MacKinnon is lucky it wasn’t worse.

Avs were indeed a little lucky catching a tired Rangers team with an AHL goalie in net. Also lucky Darcy Kuemper was able to stop the 20 shorthanded chances the Avs kept giving up, though I didn’t love the goals he DID give up.

Lundqvist with his first, I really like the defensive corps the Rangers are putting together.

Poor Miller got absolutely scorched twice in this game, but made a nice outlet feed (I think it was him at least) that eventually became Chytil’s goal

Dallas will have two available but both carry some $$$ with them. Might work if Dallas retains.

The other options are…not ideal. Jake Allen, Joonas Korpisalo, the Avs might get rid of Jonas Johansson with Frankie coming back but trust me, ya don’t want him.

I suppose Scott Wedgewood has been okay for a patently horrible Arizona team.

Well it wasn't all luck of course, the Avs have a pretty potent offense...even if the defense looks unsettled right now. Not sold at all on Kuemper, not sure he's good enough to win it all for the Avs

And yes, it was Miller who pushed the puck forward to Lafreniere for the Chytil goal...the issue though has been that he's been caught flat-footed a lot this year...last year he was able to recover a lot more, and he's done that some this year, but seems to be more exposed this year.

For some weird reason the Rangers D has taken a step back, and I can't figure out why. Even Fox has, though his numbers are still quite good. Trouba's defensive game has taken mostly collapsed though, and that's making it a lot harder on his partner Miller.

I'm not sure what the solution is there, but I would not continue with the Trouba-Miller pairing. At some point Shesterkin won't be able to bail them out.

And I agree, Kuemper doesn't look remotely good enough at present. But he's just gonna have to figure it out.

As for backups, I totally forgot about Anthony Stolarz, who has been putting up near-elite numbers as John Gibson's backup. But the Ducks are likely not wanting to sell unless their current run hits the skids.
