We’re having a winter storm down here, I was supposed to be there, but these folks don’t know how to drive on ice and snow. I live in Charlotte 2 1/2 hours away from Raliegh. Would’ve taken 5 hours to get there

I can probably point to mistakes by all six of the dmen in that period...even Schneider flubbing that clear along the boards. |

Faceoffs aren't that much different in this one (23-18 CAR through two), but the speed is the issue. Was the same when Toronto jumped on them earlier in the week. The Rangers are used to having time and space, and Carolina is taking that away, forcing the Rangers to make mistakes. The Rangers got it going a little bit when they started hitting the Canes, but then kind of let that go...so there's a lesson there. |

Kakko and Lafreniere, we were sold a false bill of goods
I'm serious. Pull the trigger on trading them before it's too late. I remember in 1998 the rangers wouldn't trade Malhotra for Pavel Bure thinking he was an impact player. What a mistake that was. |

| How about the Rangers actually realize they aren't committing to developing Kakko and Lafreniere. I've said it a hundred times. You aren't going to develop either unless you get them 1st PP time. Strome is the logical choice to remove and I would split Kakko and Lafreniere on the first PP in his slot. The dumbest thing I've heard in years is the NHL is not a developmental league. Absolute bullshit. It is when you draft a player in the top 5 picks because you do so with the intent that they will be cornerstone players. Kreider making that statement is laugable. One, he's saying that because he doesn't want to lose icetime to young players. Two, he doesn't want to be told by the organization that he won't make the difference in winning a cup but Lafreniere and Kakko can. Three, it's hilarious since it was Kreider that Torts grew tired of trying to develop that eventually got Torts fired. The facts are simple. The Rangers have done an atrocious job with Lafreniere and Kakko. Honestly, one of the low moments in this franchises history. They finally get lottery luck and they are doing everything to fuck it up. |

I believe this a lot more than I believe that they were ruined by some bad coaching. Two athletes that peaked at a very young age. Rare, but it happens to some.
Chytil must go. I'd much rather see Morgan Barron in the lineup.

| Kakko and Lafreniere have had a lot of opportunity. Gallant is not an idiot Quinn maybe so. This is two coaches who gave them opportunities which neither have taken advantage of. Kakko has been top two lines all year and shows a flash once in a blue moon the rest of the time plays the softest game imaginable. Lafreniere is pretty much the same, although has spent more time on the third line, and not showing much wherever he plays. I said awhile back Lafrenier's physical skills might have peaked in junior because there has been no evidence of any physical skill improvement and also no size or muscle mass improvement. Both for that matter are basically the same size and weight they were at 18 when they joined the league. Both play a soft perimeter game which is a good indication of playing scared/intimidated. Take the training wheels off and stop coddling these two, its time they grew up. A shot in Hartford might be good for both. Send them down together, if they can't light it up down there, well then you know for sure what you got in them. They both deserve that a lot more than powerplay time.
The insinuation both would turn into anything other than what they are, by being on the powerplay is stupid. |

| Pierre_Pdare - 2022-01-23 5:03 PM It's looking like Othmann will be an improvement over these scrubs The Rangers drafting fortunes changed for the better after Clarke and Bobrov left, and they started listening to Chris Moorhouse and started loading up on North American players. He's done a fabulous job with Schneider, Othmann and Cuylee. |
