Why does one loss cause such a line change shuffle.

Now it's
Chris Kreider, Derek Stepan, Rick Nash
Pavel Buchnevich, Mika Zibanejad, Mats Zuccarello
Jimmy Vesey, Kevin Hayes, JT Miller
Michael Grabner, Brandon Pirri, Jesper Fast

After one countem one loss Vigneault breaks up the hottest line in the league. Grabner, Hayes and Miller. Grabner's reward for being inarguably one of the teams best forwards since the start of the season is being put on the fourth line. Kreider, Zabanejad and Buchnevich were on fire before Buchnevich got hurt and haven't been back together since. Vesey, Stepan and Nash were solid their entire time together. This is a pattern of coaching Vigneault displayed last year seemingly panicking after every loss with a never ending season long lineup shuffle. What are you telling players who have had success when you break them up after the least bit of adversity.
I don't know what others think but it's getting old to me.

Though I agree with you about breaking up the chemistry of Grabner-Hayes-Miller, I think it has more to do with the PK combos than anything else.
Stepan-Nash
Hayes-Miller
Grabner-Fast

It didn't seem to affect the PK during the start of the season.

Agree. The panic over one freakin loss was absurd.

I think the lines make a lot more sense now. Buchnevich deserves a promotion. Vesey needs a change of scenery. He'said been benched two games in a row... or has it been 3?

He gets to just roll the lines. The first PP unit is the first line with Pirri added. The 2nd PP unit is the second line with Zibanejad... The PK units were already explained.

Stepan and Kreider have been linemates their whole career. Nash on their RW has been anamed effective top line for us before. I like it

Really don't have a problem with this, the lines seem to make sense and in some cases where you seem to be breaking apart "chemistry" you're regaining it in others. Kreider went cold since his return but had immediate chemistry with Stepan. Zibanejad and Vesey have been quiet but both picked up points. Buchnevich conintued his hot hand, showing his promotion was well deserved. The new fourth line, same as the old fourth line and chipped in a goal.

So far this season you could put anyone with anyone and it seems to be working.
