Day is behind other kids his age in the mental maturity and mental toughness part. Watch any interview he is almost child like. People have to relax and let this guy mature and toughen up mentally and catch up to his incredible physical talent. Unbelievable skater for a big guy.. This is a critical year in his development coming up. He's been around long enough to know he can't have no more weight and conditioning issues. He's had some adversity, and read the bad reviews, which can be a good thing providing him with extra motivation.
Reality is he still has a tough road to make Hartford, unless he finally has his ducks in a row. Going back to junior would not look good, but if he dominated, it might help him long term more than struggling in Hartford.
A lot of teams left him on the draft table. As much talent as he has he was a gamble by the Rangers who have a habit picking some of these "problem child's" swinging for the fence. Every team picking at the draft knew about his incredible talents, it's the other stuff they did not like. Remains to be seen who was right.

Chytil tore a muscle at a World tournement, so we probably won't get to see him at Traverse City, or camp

How bad?

I guess he'll be at training camp after all.... but I doubt we see him in Traverse City.

By the sounds of it he thought he just tweaked it, and continued to play until they scanned it.... so I guess it hurts, but not unbareable.... a tear is a tear, though....

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I have no clue

Current reports say no to Traverse City but heshould be in camp. He's been playing through the injury for a few games but that's not wise as he could make it worse, or injure something else in the process.

Given this circumstantial evidence Dr Concust estimates 2-3 weeks, which should put him on track for training camp. He's 18 years old next week so he also has superhuman healing powers.

I tried a search and I get televise schedules for Blues, Wings, Jackets....no rangers. Since NHL and Center Ice are involved, I suspect the "streams" will have limitations. Will have to search for a feed somewhere.

No one on here can give a qualified assessment, only a opinion. Watching highlights in no way provides enough information. There is a reason scouts watch these kids every chance they get. Consensus opinions around a scouting table are only applicable to can't miss prospects. Those names you listed would have opinion's all over the table. Professional scout's don't even have much for a track record when you consider how many players are drafted and or signed and how few actually make it. Not to mention players they miss who go undrafted who make it. That's why Gord Clark is such a integral asset. Phenomenal record with average draft pick positions.

Why bother giving an assessment. You morons have been telling us all our prospects suck for the past 8 years. Yet ever year, they develop 1 to 3 good young players at the NHL level, the team gets 100 points each year and stays fairly young. Mostly because you believe the anti-NY hating morons in the media who can't state anything objective on the Rangers. As usual, you dopes will fall in love with prospects from crap organizations that suck every year and don't make the playoffs. Or pusssssssy Russian prospects which you seem to love who basically never win anything. Other than maybe Malkin who wouldn't win crap without Sid.

I should be home to watch the stream. Happy to share my opinion and you can take it for whatever its worth. I'm no pro scout but I know the game and most around here know that my position is almost always that prospects like these are years away from the NHL so you have to expect some bad with the good. I'm not sure what Fox Sports' streaming player is like, without a replay or two it's much harder for me to break down a play by watching it live. Regardless I'm happy to share initial thoughts.

Just glad hockey's back.

I will say I'm excited at the chance to see Andersson in another full game, only seen him twice. Seen games that featured most of the more highly touted prospects, although if they were not NYR property I did not focus on them (Bereglazov, Pionk I have seen a bunch of times but never focused on him). Never seen Gettinger, he's one of the guys I'm most excited to watch. Day is also always a treat to watch. Never seen Fontaine, Stromwall, Kovacs. Can't wait to see blueshirts again.

My guess is you need the fox sports local channel (like fs Detroit) in order to get the feed for that team. Since there's no fox sports ny we'd be dependent on the home team feed which i can't see unless I'm Detroit or Chicago local.
