They say Tavares isn't concerned about the money, he's going to be paid no matter where he goes. What he's looking for is his best fit and chance to win. Why would he consider the Rangers?

Tavares is not needed here especially his future contract which we may assume will be a lengthy one.

the Isle coverage is sickening.....
Cannot figure out the Ranger draft. The goalie pick is mind-boggling with Hank for a 2-3 years, Georgiev, Shestorkin and other guy Manxxx-something we could have deferred on a freaking goalie! Mcleod kid would have been a nice reach at that spot. Defense is a tough fill but we look to be overweight on d-men and goalies.
Do they believe Chytil, Andersson, Howden, Buch and the kid from yesterday are enough young forward talent? Do they have some line of sight on turning RFAs into NHL forward prospects?

I don't know what the plan is here other then to totally bottom out and suck for a few years. Maybe that is the plan. Know you won't be good enough to win a cup, so really suck for the next 2 or 3 years and get 2 or 3 top 3 picks, hopefully even a # 1 at some point, and then start building back up in 2022. Looks like that is our plan right now.

Trade Zucc and ask Hank if he wants to go. Then go with a very young team and suck for a few years.

That's the path now.

Yeah totally but Gorton said we are not going to have all 18 year olds playing...so WTF is going on? Im convinced now that if the NYR had the #1 pick in 2015....They would have taken Dylan Strome

I'm sure he will sign a couple of vets on July 1st to fill out the roster. 1 or 2 years deals only. Just for appearances really. The team is going to suck. Seems clear now. So sign a few vets so the young kids have someone to look up to. Play a whole bunch of kids. Let them learn.

Biggest question now is will Hank waive his NTC considering we will be a bottom 5 team for a few years? And if he does will another team trade for him (maybe we eat a couple mill of his AAV).

Look at the Canes/Flames deal. Seems like that would be a good fit for us, but Gorton sits and does nada. No Kovy. Tavares passes. The signs are crystal clear now, we are what we are and this is the long game. While I get it I would say that letter last year lied. Hank saying next year needs to be about winning doesn't mean sh*t. This is a long term total tear down and multi year rebuild folks. Buckle up!!!

I'll be watching the Rangers but rooting for the Lightning too. Seems senseless to have traded JT and McD to waste the picks on a bunch of Euro Trash when there were so many great options available.... And the trade up for Miller pick is just astoundingly stupid.... What a clueless bunch of a$$ hats this (dis) organization is.

Damn the management for building a team from the defense out!!! The incompetence is really embarassing....

They took a guy who could very well be the 2nd best winger behind Svechnikov in the draft.... He looks great.... he and K'Andre Miller have serious elite potential, though they need 1-3 years to develop.

Nils Lundqvist has good potential, too.

After that we don't know much about any of the picks other than position. The goalie.... I don't know.... the pro scouts clearly liked him. Shestyorkin should be a lock, but if not.... then what? Better to have the insurance policy, so they grabbed him.

After that they added more defense and a couple wingers.

Defense (*scoff).... who needs defense? Why would we want defense to be a strong point in our system? What a bunch of fools....this team is run by a bunch of amatuers if they think defense is valueable.... (*scoff)

Yeah, they'll suck for the next 3 years, but maybe we have some hope after that. Who knows really. Cannot see the future. Only thing I will say is yeah it is good to have dmen, but we now have about 10 prospects. That is too many when you need help upfront also. Need some balance. And BTW...while those kid dmen grow, our NHL D is terrible.

And Gordie loved Kravstov because he had great games against Belarus and Norway...F'n pathetic...Sanguinetti, Mclrath, Gropp, Del Zotto, JTM.....misses and failures all over his resume. There is no excuse for taking a Goalie with your only 2nd round pick

To me I won't knock the players or what they could be, again no one really knows for sure. I go back to value though and that is where Gorton clearly gets an F. Like who you like, we'll see how that plays out, but damn get value at least. That's what angers me. That and our direction is now crystal clear (if it wasn't before yesterday).

Goalies are the hardest position players to find. If Shestyorkin turns out to be what we've all heard he is, and if this Linbolm kid turns out to be great we then have a great trade piece. Teams will pay premium for goaltenders.
