They'll both be at the WJC, right?

Whalstrom says he's better than Kravtsov.....
Rangers say they liked Kravtsov better than anyone other than Svechnikov...... so they say....

Don't worry, we'll just tell K'Andre Miller run into him "accidentally on purpose" in practice

Kravtsov v Wahlstrom
Miller v Dobson

Debates for the next decade!

Nice read...only thing I disagree with was "the thrill of the Brad Richards signing"....can't even say the thrill is gone as it was never there...but I digress.

It was a definite signal of them attempting to "go for it." It was a buyers move, as opposed to the sellers of last season.

The thrill from there out was the possibility of winning a Cup.... and rightfully so, that 2012 team was good! That was the begining of "the window."

Kravtsov was the only one who gave the right answer to motivation:"What motivates me is winning the Stanley Cup, because my teams never won the Cup where I was playing, so I’d like to be able to win this Stanley Cup and to raise it above my head."

Just want to flag this for dump and others who consistently froth at the mouth when the Rangers get ranked low because "look at all the NHL'ers they produce year after year"

These prospect depth rankings are about the level of talent currently in the system, not how adept a system is at producing bottom-6 and depth defensemen. Rangers were contenders for years, and borrowed from the draft for immediate returns and that's why their system was ranked so low.

ONE YEAR of doing the opposite, getting a few more first rounders and some more young players, and they jump 15+ spots to #11. So no, there is no huge conspiracy against the Rangers farm system, they just haven't had the depth that other teams did. All they need to do to move up in these rankings (whose value is dubious to begin with) is hold their own picks and grab a few more.

I love how high the one guy is on Nils Lundkvist. He has our top 5 prospects as

5. Lundkvist
4. Shestyorkin
3. Andersson
2. Kravtsov
1. Chytil

As our top prospect on D. He could prove to be an absolute stud. We'll no doubt keep an eye on him

But ahead of Lindgren, I'd guess? Shows the depth of our prospect pool. Maybe I'm over-hyping Lindgren, but I've really liked what I've seen from him.

Lindgren is a meat and potatoes defenseman that does not have the higher end skills that the other guys have. Generally that type of defenseman is ranked lower not because they provide less utility but because on a pure potential basis, the higher end guys could be game breakers, but Lindgren (realistically) never will be.

I take all these lists at face value but Pronman is a more established and more rounded evaluator than Adam Herman is. Not taking anything away from Herman, he's a very good Rangers-focused writer, however Pronman has broader exposure to prospects from 31 clubs than Herman does.

FWIW. At the end of the day they're all opinions.

3. Brett Howden

1. No. As usual he'll play better than the team in front of him deserves but that won't be enough for anything this year.
2. Hoping he will be a good teaching coach for younger players and can build a foundation for long term success, which he may or may not be a part of.
3. Pavel Buchnevich
