I'm ok with Vesey and want to see how he and others play for new staff. Chewy was horrible.

He is a guy (I'll call him guy now, not kid) who I could see taking his game to the next level, through manning up and playing a more physical brand.

If he, Kreider, and Hayes can bring even just a little more of an in your face style, it'll make a world of difference. Just a little. I think Jimmy has it in him.... Kreider has it in him... Kevin, I'm not so sure....

Either way, a two year show me bridge deal is exactly right for Vesey. Fair price tag, too

He doesn't suck. The coach did. Vesey should have been on the PP full time, down low. He has great hands. Instead, thickhead AV put Miller out there all the time who was bumbling idiot. Vesey was completely misused.

This sounds like a broken record. Kreider is on his 3rd coach. Coaching isnt his problem. He is what he is, a 50 pt player that is inconsistent. Hayes is what he is a 40 pt player that is a soft perimeter player. Vesey i think is what he has shown. A 30 pt bottom 6 guy that does nothing particularly well.

Ive read for yrs here the predictions of the stats these guys "could" get. They never do that. Coaching isnt the issue, they just arent that good. I hope im wrong and they all score 100 pts. But that wont happen. Lets be realistic.

I agree with all except on Hayes. With the right linemates, he's better than 40 points.

Vesey is a bottom 6 guy. He plays with an intensity that helps, especially on the backcheck, but as for skill, I just don't see it. Like you, I hope I'm wrong.

Most players at every level blame the coach for their play if its lacking. A few look in the mirror and place some blame on themselves. Most of the ones that are struggling with their game on a third or fourth line complain about ice time and and in private linemates. My experience is if you don't adapt to a third or fourth line and play well your not going to adapt and play well on a first or second line. Its the walk before you run theory, and there is nothing wrong with players learning the game at a higher level on the third or fourth line. .
Personally I think Vesey has earned a solid look on the top two lines. And some PP time. I think there is more to come from Vesey. I also think Kreider has a lot more to offer and needs to be revved up and turned loose. I think he has time to take a big leap in his game and hopefully its this year or I'm wrong. Quinn has to find a way to motivate Kreider going into the season to become a dominant power forward and its still a leap for him. He's never been one in College being more of a finesse guy. But he now has all the tools and skill to just overpower opposing dmen with his power and skill. Personally I think he is the key to the Rangers success.
The guy I'm not sure about is Hayes, but then I've never been a fan of 6'5" perimeter players.
This is all on Quinn now to show he's putting in the work to have players in a place, with the tools and instruction necessary to succeed. And then the pressure rolls onto the players to perform. For a lot of Rangers including the above, I hope Quinn is capable enough to give players the tools and direction they need and he has the ability to place the players in their best position in the lineup to succeed.

He is exactly what he was always predicted to be, a bottom 6 player with a little bit of scoring touch. The hype surrounding him because he was the only hockey related news for 6 weeks, was unreal and caused these unrealistic expectations.

I expected what we got. Im a rangers fan, i expect disappointment and i always get it. If kreider hasnt proven what he is to u in the past 5 yrs then i dont know how long it will take him to prove it to u.

1 expect a turnaround in more than a few Rangers Kreider included. I don’t think people realize what a drag on productivity chewys stupidity was.

Exactly....Hayes' most productive periods were when he had speedy wingers who could clear space...his ability to hold onto the puck longer than "the average bear" was valuable because having the puck that extra split second or so gave the wingers time to "separate".

Look at how productive he was with Hagelin....then Miller and Grabs.

The fact that he had his best season DESPITE AV's sudden decision that he was a defensive wizard speaks volumes -- he adapted and produced.

Agree with Rranger. Don't underestimate Chewy's stupidity. I agree on Kreider being a 50 point guy. His hockey IQ is low. Vesey on the other hand should become a 50 point player. He has a high hockey IQ. He just needs a coach that doesn't screw him over.

If Kreider can keep similar production, and find his physical game of 4 to 5 years ago,I would be happy enough.
