Watching the replay now.... Chytil and Andersson look like NHLers to me.

The game would be more watchable if not for John and Joe's lack of charisma

Vesey was the worst player on the ice. Names invisible. Chytil was our best offensive player.

Howden was ok, vesey sucks like he always does. Guy is useless. Shattenkirk was ok, but the d was bad. Pretty much every forward invisible. Not impressive at all. I just dont see any of these guys that look like a top tier talent. None of them.

Kreider Zibanejad Buchnevich is as top tier as it gets in NY. They could have career years, and be top tier in the league.... that may seem far fetched and unlikely, but I think there's a chance.
Zuccarello... say what you want about his passing, he's one of the best in the world at it. He needs to be put with players who are just always ready for it, and want the puck on their stick. Chytil, and someone who isn't afraid to shoot... His connection to Spooner last night was brilliant, maybe him.

Kreider Zibanejad Buchnevich
Spooner Chytil Zuccarello
Namestnikov Andersson Beleskey
Vesey Hayes Fast

The Andersson line has two hard nosed players to open up enough space for Namestnikov to be effective... in theory.... get dirty goals.

The Hayes 4th line is a shut down line. Keep it simple, and they will be effective.

It's a bubble team, but that's fine. If we add Panarin and Kravtsov to that, and take out Namestnikov and Vesey, it's a good looking group.

It would make too much sense.

Vesey Hayes Fast is more of a 3rd line.... they wouldn't be getting sheltered minutes.

Those lines give us two 2nd lines and two 3rd lines... it's the best we can do imo.

I doubt it happens either, but that's how I see it

They just paid him how much and you think he should be playing on the fourth line? They are going to trade him or Zib and playing him down in the lineup kills his trade value. If they want to keep him you don't play him as a 4th liner because he doesn't belong there and he'd probably walk when free agency comes around. He's a 3rd line center at worst and would be to the detriment of this team's future to play him there.

So he'd produce more on a line with Namestnikov and Beleskey, compared to Vesey and Fast?

Hayes and Fast were the top PK unit last year... they work well together... Vesey is his best friend.... the line should have chemistry

If you put Hayes on the fourth line you are officially retarded.

More likely.

Kreider Zibanejad Buchnevich
Spooner Hayes Zuccarello
Namestnikov Chytil Fast
Vesey Andersson Beleskey

Neither Chytil or Andersson is close to helping more than Hayes yet. Let Andersson if he's ready get his feet wet as a fourth line center, in todays NHL most fourth lines play against other teams fourth lines, very few teams can throw their fourth line out against just anybody. and Andersson is not there yet either. He will need structured minutes against selected opponents. His supposed all round game should grow in that challenge. It will be all he can do to be reliable night in and night out Chytil should be third line center with some power play exposure, He has a different skill set from Andersson and will become more of a offensive staple in the lineup down the road. I like others hope he attains first line center status some day but first you walk, then you run.

Hayes sucked the other night. I assume he'll be in the lineup tonight. He needs to play well.

His trade value depends on his play. So far, Andersson and Chytil have been better than Hayes. If that continues, they should be rewarded for it. Hayes shouldn't just be given the second line center spot because he's paid more.... he has to earn it imo.

For some reason Andersson's offensive production gets overlooked here. He's not a 4th liner just as much as Hayes isn't a 4th liner...

Yet you still have andersson ahead of Hayes. Your the one with Hayes behind Chytil and Andersson which at this stage of their non existent NHL track record is ridiculous. There is a different dynamic at work here. Hayes is getting ready, Chytil and Andersson still have to prove they belong and can hang for 82 games. Your wishful thinking is not reality its just your wishful thinking. Everyone wants all three to succeed. Opposing lineups will start getting better, Chytil and Andersson still have a lot to still prove. Anderssons supposed all round game makes him a ideal candidate to break into the league as a fourth line centre, learning both ends of the ice. its no different than Chytil playing up the lineup, with more offensive opportunities, thats his future, but either one gets sloppy on defense and it will be Hartford.

What production? It's a couple preseason games. Produce in the actual season against actual NHL players and you get to unseat veterans who are still in their prime. A bad preseason game by Hayes and you already have him on the 4th line? Actually no, you had him there months ago.
