I liked his discipline, demanding intensity, his nurturing, improvement of players under his watch, all in all a pretty good first season. Also interesting Vesey and Hayes who was a UFA were both hot and cold and neither are back. High hopes for Quinn's performance in year two.

The effort was high all season and a huge positive for the Rangers. The team defense was inconsistent and hung the goalies out. Hopefully Q will have a better handle on the D by the 5 guys on the ice. The defense group should be much improved with the addition of Trouba and the subtraction of Shattenkirk. Maybe Fox will be better than Pionk and one or 2 of the young guys will fill a top 6 slot. The Ranger offense should be better and that might take some pressure off the D.

It was finally nice to have a coach with some balls who played kids and disciplined all players equally. One that didn't let vets off the hook like the previous coaches did.

To me this is still a young team, this team will be relying on kids to do well, keep improving, lead the way. This is still a team with a #1 goalie on the wrong side of 35, but a promising young goalie in training. A young D, & new faces on D that never played together. Who can put the puck in the net & put up points consistently besides Z.? There is still a question of leadership on the ice/locker room. The coach does a good job of this as the coach, but on the ice/locker room to take on this role. That's a LOT of questions, & a lot of things to go right to have a good season. But, I agree with every one including THN, NHL.Com, 1 of the more interesting teams to watch & see...

P.S.: If none of this goes well & doesn't come together another Top 5 pick wouldn't hurt to really put the team over the top.

I expect Kakko and Kravtsov to make plays. I see no way either plays in the minors. Fox is the guy I'm really anxious to see play. Unless they use a forward on the point on the PP, a need for a lefty power play defenseman is now a need. Skjei isn't it. Hopefully, Miller will fill that role down the line.

The league trend is 4F 1D on the PP and it has been for a few years now. I'd say most teams now employ this. Last year Rangers had one D on the point on PP1 most of the time and then had two defensemen on PP2. So unless something changes I'd expect Trouba as the only D on PP1 and Fox/Skjei or Deangelo/Skjei on PP2.

I think it comes down to manpower, most coaches would rather have the second dman on the point assuming they they are as good a offensive option as a fourth forward. Rangers once they get DeAngelo back and assuming Fox can handle it will have better point men PP options this year.

Trouba's no slouch, either

Fox is NHL ready. Makar is an equal comparable

Trouba is obviously the first option. Makar is a stud. Going to be a great player. Fox has a lot to live up to already. He has much to prove, that he is mentionable with Makar, who might turn out to be the best pick of his draft.
