You have to like Quinn doing what he thinks is the right thing, and not bowing to any veteran sympathy and playing who deserves it after a good effort against Tampa.

I think the story about flying Ruutu in to help Kakko is another example in a sense...and that goes to how do you make people successful, and how do you go against years of "common knowledge".

You may fail, and you might not be popular along the way...

It’s the kind of detail that might get overlooked by teams. Nice to see the Rangers do that. I’d like to see the Rangers take a run at Pujujarvi, I’m sure he and Kappo would gel and it would help both pushing each other.

Not necessary or smart trading Andersson at this point in time, so if gorton can do something else maybe a dman., Pujujarvi just might figure it out in NYC.

Oilers have always liked Kreider.

Kakko and Puljujarvi wouldn't play together, they're both RWers...

It's going to be interesting to see what happens when Zib comes back.

LW:
Panarin
Kreider
Lemieux
Haley
Smith
McKegg

C:
Zibanejad
Chytil
Howden
Andersson

Strome
RW:
Buchnevich
Kakko
Fast

I would imagine Strome moves to the RW of.... the first line?

Panarin Zibanejad Strome
Kreider Chytil Buchnevich
Lemieux Howden Kakko
Smith/Haley/McKegg Andersson Fast

Would make the most sense.

ALL that being said.... Puljujarvi would be cool to bring in, but this lineup has clicked as of late. I wouldn't want to disturb too much

they have both played their off wing Rob.Most pros can and have. They win two games and you worry about changing the lineup, good grief man, get a grip. It’s two games lol. . Subbing Puljujarvi for Fast, McKegg, Smith take your pick. Like everyone else he earns his way up the lineup, until then he gives Andersson a more skilled linemate. I believe it was you wanting Strome to play with Andersson. Puljujarvi is a more realistic skilled line mate.

Yeah, I do want Andersson to have a more skilled winger....

I'm not worried about anything....

I'm just not sure what a Puljujarvi trade would look like... I suggested Kreider, but I'm hesitant to trade Chris.... and what that would do to the lineup.

If Kreider is traded, one of Kakko, Buchnevich, or Puljujarvi would have to play the left side....

and so yeah... anytime a trade happens, I wonder about whether it does harm to the lineup, rather then improve it.

If these lines click, I'm not sure I'd want to change too mich

Not wanting to break up the lineup might be construed as worrying about nothing. You suggested Kreider, doubtful thats on the table considering his possible return at the trade deadline. The Rangers have a mitt full of defensive prospects Edmonton needs D men and or D prospects. It would more likely be a unproven highly skilled D prospect going to Edmonton. At this point in time the Oilers have to understand the buyer beware sign hanging on Puljujarvi and lower their demands accordingly.

Kreider's season finally started, 10+ games in, but he can't buy a goal.

100% agree...Smith has been serviceable but he is our extra forward & 7th Dman

Lias can play 4th line, BUT he needs some talent with him. Don’t care if it is Fast, McKegg, Strome, whoever just get him real players.

Fast Lias Pulj > Smith Lias McKegg

Tonight we'll see the same line-up for a third straight game...No Staal or Lundqvist, though the latter will play Wednesday against Detroit

2 teams they should beat, but with this team you don't know if the Rangers show up or the Strangers.
