You guys can push your sad narrative all you want and it won't change anything. I am agreeing with you on last nights game, and you are still saying yeah but you are making excuses about last nights game. AGAIN - they did not play well last night, no excuses. If that game were the norm, or if it becomes the norm, I may feel differently. For now it was one awful game with no excuse. Outside of that OVERALL there are very legit and real reasons why we have struggled. Played competitive hockey for the most part, especially the past handful plus of games into last night, but haven't been getting wins. Last night - no excuses - we played very poorly overall. Credit to the Devs for playing well.

I think Brooks, for a rare time, sums it up perfectly. He talks about last night's effort, Quinn, Ziban, and Kreider. He is spot on with how last night played out, and it cannot be the norm...or else...

Yet the incompetent idiot never scratches any of them. If it's a kid, he's sitting out 3 to 5 games.

After two hard fought games against a legit contender (Boston), which they could have won either or both, they shat the bed against a lesser team that hadn't played in over two weeks. Such is the inconsistency of a young team. They knew the Devils were not the Bruins and forgot that both teams get paid to play. Hopefully this is a lesson that they don't need to repeat.

One thing that is painfully obvious is that there is no on-ice leadership on this team. The fact that there hasn't been a team captain since McDonagh left is not coincidence or symbolic. There's a concrete reason for it. None of the veteran players on this team DESERVE to be captain. The closest one who may actually have the necessary leadership for the job is Trouba. His absence last night in the third period was obvious, as the wheels fell off and the game descended into a clown show.

Zib is too soft-spoken and Kreider is useless 3 games out of 5. Trouba seems to step up consistently and has the physical presence to be a captain. Losing him for 4 to 6 weeks is gonna be very rough on this team.

The young excuse is total bull shirt. Sick of hearing it. Last season almost as young as this year and they were tearing down the stretch headed for a playoff spot. End of story, excuses are for losers in any endeavour. They are losing because they are lucky if half the team comes to play.

Lost two major vets and leaders who have been through a lot of playoff ups and downs in Staal and Hank. Look, you can dismiss the youngest team in the NHL struggling this year due to inexperience up and down the roster and call it an excuse, that's fine, but it doesn't change the reality of that being true.

With that said, of course it isn't the only reason. The vets are struggling a lot as well (that is not youth). They got off to a slow start, then they played solid hockey for a handful plus of games (without the results you'd like to show for it), and then last night they laid a total egg and played their worst game since game 1 against the Isles. That type of effort needs to end tomorrow night.

That's the way it is. You want to say none of it matters, go for it. They need some seasoning, and will be better for it.

And the ultimate question really is this, where did you really expect this team to finish this season? That's the puzzling part. At best if things broke right they maybe get 4th, at best. Much more likely they would finish 5th or 6th if we are being realistic. So if your expectations were realistic, they really aren't that far off. If you expected them to be near the top of the division for some reason, yeah you'd be very disappointed right now.

What excuse can I use when we lay an egg tonight vs the flyers?

Can georgie punch zib in the face for not scoring after he gives up 6 goals?

Asking for a friend...

If they play like they did against the Devs, then I would start to get concerned. Not saying they'll win, but I expect a much better effort tonight hopefully.

13 You keep insisting their problems manifest from their youth, yet all season the youth have been mostly the best players. Fox, Lindgren, Miller, Kakko, in particular and lately Howden, Gauthier and Hajek have all played hard and are not the problem. The only other young inexperienced player is Lafreniere. He gets slack. The rest of the team are experienced players. You bring up Lundqvist and Staal’s leadership missing which is laughable. They were both almost incognito last year. The Rangers problems are the veteran players contributions. And being flat as a team more often than not, but for the kids who have done a pretty good job of showing up most nights. But they need help.
They also need a adjustment or two playing different teams yet they keep throwing the same style of play against the wall with the same results. They have a name for that.

Kakko has 3 points, Howden has 2 points, Lafreniere has 1 point, Gauthier has 1 point. None of those guys are scoring. We need to actually score some goals. Young guys, not killing them overall, but they have done next to nothing on O.

And your comments on Hank and Staal show you just don't get it. Incognito? Staal played pretty much every game. Hank played pretty much every game (not started every game, but was at worst the backup for a reason). They were in the locker room. They were there for leadership. If you think that doesn't matter you are lost. Why do you think Hank was the backup when he didn't start? Quinn even said as much.

As mentioned, that is NOT the only reason, but to act as if that isn't part of it simply is faulty and trying to create a story to fit your desired narrative.

Also as mentioned, if the Devs game effort becomes the norm, yeah we have big issues. Up until that game they had played well for a handful plus of games. Tough L's, but played well, and played hard, and couldn't finish.

The D is much better this year. Now they need to get the O going. They need some of the vets to step up as you called out. We'll see if they do. But I'm sorry, having a whole slew of young players who don't know how to win yet absolutely is a factor here. Not the only factor, but a factor. Why do you think young teams take time to grow and adjust and mature before they win big. Come on man.

Any chance you can play him again in the absence of Trouba instead of Johnson??

You are so dense dude it isn't even funny. Again, you have your narrative, and facts be damned. There is no way I can even comprehend that the youngest teams in the league is struggling in part because they have a large group of young, inexperienced, untested kids. It's crazy to think that plays a part in their struggles and inconsistency, in this unprecedented shortened season with no camp. CRAZY!

Untested kids? Wake up genius one rookie, Lafrenière, the rest are tested. You are a nut case excuse maker.. Pure and simple and more than a little stupid. Your whiny bitching youngest team in the league excuse is as stupid as the fire the coach after a bad game. You obviously have no comprehension of how a athlete thinks. Because you were probably much to busy with your tap dance lessons. None of the Ranger players use the thumb in the mouth excuse like you and the coach do. They are Elite athletes, and have been playing against older players their entire playing career, they are not scared or intimidated. You didn’t hear New Jersey whining about a young team when they came in and kicked the Rangers ass the other night. Probably because they got a coach that went through the hoops playing and realizes you treat them like men they play like men.

I am done with this ridiculous back and forth. It is mindboggling to me if you truly believe that the youngest team in the NHL hasn't been inconsistent with ups and downs, due in part to all the youth on the team. There really isn't much more to add. These kids need to learn how to win in the NHL. Learn how to work through the NHL grinder, especially in a condensed season with no camp, and most teams playing as if it's late season playoff type hockey.

Once again, it is not just that. The vets like Ziban and Kreider especially need to step up their games. So it is more than just youth, and learning, and gaining experience for the kids. But there is no doubt that is a factor as well.

Now I'm done. You believe what you need to believe guy.

I suspect going to the bathroom by yourself is mindboggling. The Ranger veterans stink and for the most part have all year. Three or four timely goals from them and the Rangers are above .500. But oh no its inexperience dragging the Rangers down. Right. Again because you are obviously slow, excuses are for losers. Quinn is going down a dangerous road whining about boys against men. Its a great way to lose a team. Which it appears he is well down that road already.
