So it appears the Rangers and Blackhawks are heading to a trade for Kane. Given the most likely path to freeing up money, we should see Jake Leschyshyn on waivers today, which would allow for a trade on March 3rd.
Multiple reports suggest that the Blackhawks have come down on their asking price, with Kane said to have pushed hard for a move to New York.

Rangers get their first playoff win over rival Americans |
The New York Americans and New York Rangers did not meet in a playoff game until the Rangers' third season. The first round matchup was a two game set, with total goals the determining factor on who would advance. The first game was a 0-0 tie and the second also failed to see either side register a goal, forcing the deciision to overtime. It took almost thirty minutes of overtime before Butch Keeling finally ended it for the Rangers, giving the Blueshirts a 1-0 goal total, and moving them onto the second round to face Toronto. |
